Other Terminology & Alerts
"Trauma Alert"
Usually accompanied by a level 1 or 2 designation. Declared in order to pre-alert the closest appropriate hospital's trauma team for the arrival of a seriously injured patient.
"System Status Red"
A designator sent along with the units during station alerting of a call. Signifies the absense of a medic unit that is needed on the call.

The first available frontline medic unit or reserve will take the call.
"Stroke Alert"
Used to alert the closest appropriate hospital that the patient is experiencing obvious signs of a stroke, sets a few EMS protocols and a team at the hospital in motion.
"Sepsis Alert"
Used to alert the closest appropriate hospital that the patient is experiencing obvious signs of septic shock, sets a few EMS protocols and a team at the hospital in motion.
"System Status Zero"
Automatic message aired over station alerting when the number of available medic units is zero.

Stations will cross-staff reserve medic units (2XX) until further notice.
