On May 6, 2025, a group of firefighters traded their usual gear for capes and masks—not for an emergency, but for a mission of joy. There was no fire to fight that day, only smiles to spark.
Children gathered eagerly at their hospital windows, eyes wide with excitement, as their favorite superheroes rappelled down the building to meet them face-to-face. The event brought laughter, wonder, and a much-needed break from hospital routines.
Behind the scenes, Midwest Misfits Training, LLC—a company known for preparing first responders for high-risk, high-stress situations—lent their expertise to make the dramatic entrances possible. For one day, their training helped turn a hospital wall into a stage for hope and heroism.

On this day, their expertise helped turn a hospital wall into a vertical stage—where bravery looked a little different, but meant just as much.
Below are the photos we captured from that day. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Midwest Misfits for allowing us to be a part of this special moment.
