Updated: Apr 24, 2020

Tip leads Omaha Police Narcotics Unit officers to arrest 52-year-old Delmus Wilkerson on numerous felony drug charges after months of work.

Wilkerson has been connected to at least two overdose investigations.

In late February officers executed a controlled buy of .3 grams of heroin from Wilkerson at his residence near 25th Street and Laurel Ave.

Weeks later officers executed a search warrant of Wilkerson's residence and located an additional .8 grams of heroin.

On Tuesday, April 21st, Narcotics Unit officers received a tip that Wilkerson was staying at the 402 Hotel at 2211 Douglas Street.  Around 1:15 p.m. surveillance officers observed a blue Ford Excursion enter the parking lot of the hotel with Wilkerson in the passenger seat.  Officers announced their presence and the vehicle did not stop.  Officers blocked the exit of the parking lot, stopping the vehicle, and Wilkerson was taken into custody.

Officers located 54.7 grams of concrete heroin in two baggies in the left pocket of Wilkerson's jacket.  Currency was also found in Wilkerson's hand.

A search warrant was obtained to search Wilkerson's hotel room where 8.3 grams of methamphetamine packaged for sale, 2.9 grams of powdered cocaine packaged for sale and 5.1 grams of crack cocaine were found in a black jewelry bag inside a shirt hanging in the closet.

Officers also located 4.2 grams of suspected fentanyl, $3,670 cash, personal amounts if THC extract, drug paraphernalia, drug records, phones and tablets.

Wilkerson was booked into Douglas County Department of Corrections for the following felony charges:
